Manitou unveils clutch of MLA mini pivot-steer loaders

Manitou has launched six new compact articulated loaders that are designed to work in tight spaces.

Smaller MLA series 2 and 3 machines sit at just 1.1m wide and offer maximum lifting capacities of 1t and 1.5t, respectively.

They are powered by a 25hp, three-cylinder Perkins engine that drives a hydrostatic transmission and 30-litre/min hydraulic gear pump.

Stepping up to the series 4 and 5 models brings in a 48hp Yanmar power-plant driving a two-speed hydrostatic transmission and 57- or 60-litre/min hydraulic pump.

To help keep these models as compact as possible, Manitou has positioned the engines lengthways in the chassis and shaved off some metal from the hood.

This work means the largest MLA 5-50H model sits at just 1.33m wide, 3.79m long and 2.29m high, with a maximum lift capacity of 1.88t.

All new compact MLA models are designed to work with a wide selection of attachments, including buckets, forks and bale clamps, as well as levellers and augers.

They are available from this summer and will also be sold in yellow Gehl livery.
